Those were some of the last words he said to me. Those are the words that keep repeating in my mind. Over and over and over. “You go out and get what you want.” I’ve probably thought that phrase hundreds maybe a thousand times since Wednesday evening. “You go out and get what you want.” A chapter in my life has closed. A chapter many people had opinions about, but a chapter that I don’t regret. I loved him. I still love him. And I know he loves me. But we both knew from the beginning, we were different… and we knew that would make it hard. We had to give it a shot. Two years. We spent two years together. And we were happy. He helped me through some hard times. I helped him grow. We had our ups and we had our downs, but in the end we always loved each other. It was time. We both had to face what we’ve been avoiding for so long. It hurts. He told me “You go out at get what you want.” I want him. But I also want something he can’t give me. He wants me. But he also wants me to be happy. So where does that leave us? Closing a chapter. Opening a new one. I’m going to take his advise… but not right now. Not quite yet. I still hurt. I’m still a little bit confused. We did the right thing, right? Can’t we simply go on pretending it would work out forever? No, we knew this was right. We still know it but that doesn’t make it any easier. So I guess I just have to take his advise, one slow step at a time… and be thankful for what we had.

Did you know the Salt Lake Bees date back to the 1880’s??? I had no idea! Check out this sweet photo I found:

You can read (a little) about it here.

That being said, I’m stoked for some baseball tonight! First home game of the season, baby. Bring on the hot dogs (yes, I said hot dogs), the seventh inning stretch, the cheap lawn tickets and my friends.  Bring on summer!

I feel bad for leaving that finger as the first post everyone see’s when they come to my blog. It’s been there for a long time. Anyway, I apologize, dear readers. Allow me to give you something new to rest your eyes on.

I’ve been wanting to replace the finger with something really pretty. Namely, some pictures from the bridal session I shot two weeks ago.  That’s easier said then done seeing as all the good pictures are on my brothers computer. So you will just have to wait. Sorry. I probably want to post them more than any of you really want to see them, but it was awesome. Kalli was a GORGEOUS bride… she made my job easy. Pictures are to come!

In other news, I fell down the stairs at work yesterday. It was cool. Actually, I lied, it was not cool at all because it hurt really, really bad. I was on the phone, carrying a bolt of fabric, and wearing heels. Nothing out of the norm, right? Well, my heel caught on the carpet and I didn’t even think about attempting to save myself. I just decided to fall. On my shins. Then I slid. Down the stairs (it was only 4 stairs, but still). Then I wanted to cry. Then the nice guy from ABC 4 who loves hats came to help me up. Then I couldn’t walk very well. Then I swore off shoes for the rest of the day. Now my shins are all purple and my right shin has a nice patch of baby skin showing. It was rough, guys.

In other, other news, tonight is the playoffs! Beau’s hockey team has been doing amazing this round. See? Team Arby’s is number one, baby! It’s been really fun to cheer on his team and I’m stoked for the game tonight.

And lastly, I’m really missing my summer babies:

I guess I have a thing for two wheels.

(Sorry about the ladies bum… but I really liked this picture)

THEN, in seven weeks I will be here:

The Golden Gate Bridge

Ahhh… how I love to travel. Wanna know what I’m probably most excited about??? Taking my camera with me on these trips! Hopefully I will come back with some gems like the pictures above (Like I’m even close to that skill level, but whatevs).

I’m a happy girl.

He loves me.

Beau and I had a wonderful Valentines day. We celebrated on Saturday night and it was simply perfect.

Hello… do you SEE THOSE??? Love, love. love them. ♥  The best part would have to be the fact that the vase is full of chocolate. I can’t make this stuff up. CHOCOLATE. Awesome.

We headed to the Gateway and Beau surprised me with a visit to the Build A Bear Workshop! I spotted a Jack Russell Terrier that looked like My Kodiak… of course I had to get him.

Allow me to introduce you to Kodiak Jr.

Isn’t he darling? He has a sound maker in his paw so he barks, and I got him a scarf and a bone and rope toy.

Beau got a wolf named Hogan who had a striped button up shirt with a vest and sunglasses. He’s classy.

It was fun to break out our inner children for a night.

We had so much fun at Build A Bear that we didn’t have time for dinner at Z Tejas so we hit up the Costa Vida. So yum.

We finished the evening with a viewing of Dear John… it was really good. And mushy. And romantic. And Valentines-ey.

It was most of all fun to spend some time with Beau… and I had to tell you all about how much fun I had! He did good.

I hope you had a wonderful Valentines/Singles Awareness/Buy Yourself a Shirt Day!

Friday night was wild. Wild I tell you. I ventured out to the Home Remodeling and Decorating Show which was, well to put it frankly, lame. We did pick up some delicious coconut cream sauce and an undercoat hair brush for the Kodi dog and some guy tried to convince me that the Nephites lived in North America, not South (who knows, really?). Oh, and I met Therm- the Energy Wise Guy and promised him I’d put the picture we took together up as my Facebook Profile picture (which I still haven’t done). Aside from the lame-ness (not including the obvious coolness of the coconut sauce, brush and Therm), there was one major highlight of the evening.

The highlight of the evening was when my mother made me get my hair straightened by some random chick showing all together too much cleavage. I’ve gotten pretty darn good at ignoring everybody who calls to get my attention as I walk through the mall, or the Home Show, or down the street or whatever. People yell at me and I ignore it. My mom, however, didn’t ignore it and made me sit in the stupid chair and look in the stupid mirror as cleavage girl curled one quarter of my hairs.

Cleavage Girl: “Isn’t it nice? It’s ceramic and heated with infrared light so it won’t damage your hair.”

Me: “Yeah, that’s nice but I just got a new one for Christmas.”

CG: “What kind was it? Was it a Chi?”

Me: “Honestly I don’t remember what kind it was.”

CG: “Well, how much did you pay for it?”

Me: “I don’t know, I got it for Christmas. Mom?”

Mom: “I paid $125 for it.”

CG: “Oh. Well, where did you get it?”

Mom: “Our stylist recommended it.”

CG: “Oh, well it’s probably made with metal plates which will damage your hair. This one wont. Feel how soft your hair is. Feel it. Here, feel it.”

So I touched my hair. My mom did, too.

CG: “So, which style do you like? We have cheetah, zebra, tattoo and pink. Which one is your favorite?”

Me: Thinking: none. Said: “Uh… zebra.”

CG: “Okay, let’s get it for you!”

Me: “I don’t need it, I just got one for Christmas.”

CG: “Is the one you got for Christmas made with ceramic plates and zebra print?”

Me: “Nope.”

CG: “….”

I got worried she was going to leave my hair one quarter curled, but she straightened it back.

Me: “Can I get a card?” You know, compensation for wasting her time and all.

CG: “Yeah, but a card won’t straighten your hair.”

Seriously! She said that! She was the most pushy chipper cleavage showing girl ever, up until she realized she wasn’t going to make a sale. Then she turned into a bee-otch.

Friday night was topped off with some of this and then this. Both were awesome.

Did that just happen? 2009, I mean. Like, the whole year.

January: Spent zero dollars on clothing. That’s a fact.

February: Visited Michelle in Nebraska! Who would have ever thought I would visit Nebraska… not me. But it was awesome. Started Sweet Somethings with my momma.

March: Went to the Festival of Colors with Aub Bob. Won a photo shoot! Dressed up in 80’s garb and danced the night away.

April: Bought Screamin’ Mimi… aka my scooter. I love her.

May: Happy birthday to me! I got my adorable bicycle, Gigi. Ran my second ever half marathon. Bought my Nikon D60.

June: One word: Hawaii. I don’t even care about anything else that happened in June.

July: I love July. I love the 4th of July. I also love the 24th of July because I live in Utah. July holidays = Bliss.

August: Hong Kong. Macau. Bangkok, Thailand. Epic adventures.

September: Started a photography class, chopped my hair. I love both.

October: Took lots of pictures. Dressed up as a bumble bee.

November: Turkey, mashed, stuffed, etc. Times two.

December: Said good-bye to Elder Nash. Hello house fire. Christmas. New Year’s Eve.

If you’re lucky I’ll post about how I did on my goals for 2009 and fill you in on my goals for 2010. But only if you’re lucky.

Love you all!

xoxo Cambria
