Who me? Um… busy. Perdón. Being a grown-up is time-consuming.

Having fun is also time-consuming.

I’ll recap the fun part of the past three months (because we all know the grown-up part isn’t all that thrilling).

August: Quick Cali trip. And by quick, I mean quick. The trip clocked in at exactly 48 hours and 24 of those hours were spent driving. But I did get some of this:

And spent some time with these ladies (this pic may or may not have been taken when we ran out of gas a few miles outside of Las Vegas at 4 am):

And here are a few more gems from the trip for your viewing pleasure:

In September I hit up Bear Lake with a bunch of crazy cats:

And had fun:

This says: “Cambria rocks the Bear Lake universe yea” And that’s a fact, according to Jared.

Photobomb courtesy Abe.

Apparently the boys had too much fun.

Let’s finish this post off with some grilled peaches.

Stay tuned for an upcoming post on my cruise to the Bahama’s and my first trip ever to Lake Powell!

Wow!  What a year!  2008 has been one for the history books.  Well, at least the history books of Cambria.  This year I:

Traveled to Chicago/Nauvoo with my family to pick up Mike!

Ran my first half marathon.

Went to San Fracisco with Erica.

Started dating Beau.

Won a Rock Band competition with my siblings.

Went to Flaming Gorge with my ward.

Went to So Cal to visit Amber and Ty with Beau.

Sold lots of lotions to friends and family.

Lots of what happened can be summed up in our 2008 Christmas card.

Okay so that was last year… now on to this year.  My resolutions are:

  • Beat my time (by a lot) at the Ogden Half.  I wanna get around 2 hr 15 min.  (Did I mention I’m a slow runner?)
  • Get out of debt and stay on a budget using this.
  • Complete a triathlon sprint.  Maybe a full tri.  We’ll see.
  • Move out by my birthday (sorry mom).
  • Abstain from buying any clothing for the month of January.  We’re taking this resolution one month at a time. Ha.
  • Grow my lotion business!

And that’s it.   Wish me luck!

I know I’m way behind… but I might be the slowest digital scrapbooker on the planet.  Here are some highlight from my trip with Beau to So Cal!

A few interesting points from my trip to California:

  • In one day, Beau and I traveled by car, plane, bus, train and FOOT to get from Kaysville and Ogden, Utah to Oceanside, California.  All we needed was a boat.
  • I forgot how SALTY the ocean is.
  • If you want to have a unique experience and you’re not afraid of being completely humiliated and harassed, eat at Dick’s Last Resort in San Diego.
  • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride at Disney’s California Adventure is sick!  So much fun.  Props to the “cast member” who completely played the part of the elevator operator… it made the ride ten times better.
  • Thursday nights in Oceanside are a BLAST at the weekly street fair/market.
  • Angels fans are passionate.
  • The weather is perfect in Cali.  It’s warm, but the breeze is always cool.
  • The Oceanside Pier is romantic at night.
  • Don’t tell your significant other you’re jealous about something insignificant moments before you’re walking into Disneyland for the first time.  Total buzz kill.  My bad.
  • DO place a wager on which couple will rack up the most points on the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters to win churros.
  • Fly Jet Blue so you can have a full drink (not just half a drink in a little cup), a variety of unlimited free snacks, lots of leg room, no charge for checked luggage, XM Satellite Radio, Direct TV, and a cheap flight… the list goes on.   I love Jet Blue.
  • I didn’t get to see Cinderella at Disneyland.
  • Whenever possible, stay with friends.  And make your significant other sleep on the air mattress so you can have the super-duper comfy couch to sleep on.
  • Make sure to thank your significant other for removing your glasses, turning off the tv, removing the half-full cup of water from your hand, and tucking you into bed when you fall asleep before you plan to every night.  “I was watching the hurricane!” “No you weren’t you were sleeping.” “But now I’m awake, I wanna watch it!” “You’re gonna spill your water, just go to sleep.  Here, let’s see you’re glasses.”  “But I can’t see without my glasses!”  “What do you need to see?  You were sleeping!”  Bless his heart, I was completely out of it.
  • Buy your tickets from ebay.  But be careful!
  • The random, friendly, old, drunk, African American dude on a bike told Beau, “I’m gonna pay you back!  I gotta leave right now, but I’m gonna get you your money.”  He’s still waiting for his payment.  We don’t know why he’s paying him back, but he promised.
  • The drive from Sportfisher Drive in Oceanside to Hollywood Boulevard in LA is quite a long one.  But visiting H&M, seeing Spider-man climb the scaffolding, seeing the stars on the sidewalk, spotting the word “Hollywood” on the hillside and having a good chat with Beau made it worth the drive.
  • Garmin GPS saved our lives. “In . 3 miles turn right. Then, turn right.”
  • In N Out Burger is yummers.
  • Check out weekend deals for a rental car from Enterprise.  You can’t beat $13 a day!
  • It’s always nice to be home.

I’ll be posting pictures soon!

In San Francisco!  I flew in to Salt Lake International from from San Francisco yesterday afternoon.  That city is SO MUCH FUN!!  I went over and under the Golden Gate Bridge, was proposed to by a street performer painted in silver, trekked to the top of Lombard Street (it was SO STEEP!!!) and walked down, encountered the “Bushman“, was verbally attacked by a woman in the airport bathroom, stayed in an entirely blue room at Park Hotel (our room was no where NEAR as nice as the website makes it look), took a tour on Segway Scooters, went to the Japanese Tea Garden, ate the most delictable sourdough bread from Boudin, did NOT go to Alcatraz (crycrycry), rode the bus through Chinatown and didn’t dare get off, visited the Painted Ladies, found the house on Full House, visited the place where one of my best friend Erica was born in Presidio, saw the sights from Coit Tower on Telegraph Hill, bought a really sweet I {heart} SF tee shirt, and oh so much more!!!

Thank you Erica!!

Pictures coming soon…
