See??? I told you!

She. Is. Incredible.

And a perk of being roommates/bffs with an art student is getting your portrait drawn.

She is in business if you’re looking for an awesome gift.

Check out her art here.

One of the perks of working at a Quilt Shop is getting the chance to attend the International Quilt Market which (lucky for me!) was held in Salt Lake City last weekend.

I was in heaven.

I went to a class taught by Amy Butler on Thursday, then on Friday I met her!

(and she told my friend Sig and I that she liked our outfits and that we were really cute!!! Ahhhhh I almost died).

Saw Sandi Henderson’s boot which was simply to die-for-adorable:

Went to a class taught by Joel Dewberry (and his darling wife) on Thursday and met them on Friday as well! I told him how in love I was with his Aviary 2 line (the grey and mustard colorway) and showed him which pieces I was planning on using for the drapes in my bedroom and which I was planning on using for my bedskirt. I think they liked me 😉

So… Joel talked his wife into designing dress patterns… isn’t this dress adorable? I’m going to make it. And the chair. Swoon.

Also went to a class by Anna Maria Horner. LOVE HER. Look at this adorable peasant top she has coming out soon:

Needless to say I was on Cloud Nine.

I also went to a class by Heather Bailey (who announced she is pregnant!) and showed off party supplies that will be available in her adorable designs. Lila Tuller who used laminated fabric in the most adorable ways… cute patterns to come! Michael Miller designers, Riley Blake designers and much more!

P.S. All of these images belong to the amazing photographer, Sigrid Larsen.

Aub and I have had extensive discussions about OkGo’s videos. WHY ARE THEY NOT WINNING VMA’s, people?!?!

Seriously.

Is it because they don’t exploit women, or spend millions of dollars on special effects or post-production editing?

Where are the awards for genius creativity and originality?

Check out the video for End Love. Epic.

And let us not forget This Too Shall Pass, Do What You Want and the classic Here it Goes Again.

Pure entertainment.

I’m just sayin’.

Kalli’s Bridals

My wonderful co-worker Sharon asked if I could take picture for her daughter’s wedding. A mixture of excitement and terror ran through me. AH!!! Really? Me? Uh… that would be AWESOME but are you sure? That’s scary! Uh… YES. But… I’ve never shot a wedding before. We made a plan that I would take some bridals… and if they liked them we could continue. If not, then I told her my feelings would not be hurt and they could find a new photographer. Good news… they liked them!

But really now… look at Ms. Kalli. The girl is GORGEOUS! And so incredibly sweet. I had the time of my life shooting her. Here are a few of my favorites from our bridal shoot:

This one was a special request from Kalli… she wanted this shot at it turned out gorgeous thanks to her eyes. They are crazy cool! They picked up every color around us. So there’s some pink (brown) from the flowers, blue from the sky, and if you look very closely, you can see me!

Black and white:

This is one of my ultimate favs:

And there you have it! My first bridal shoot ever. I’m really pleased with how they turned out. Thanks Kalli for giving me this experience!

Oh! And I can’t post these without a HUGE shout out/thanks to my brother Collin who sat down with me during his spring break and edited into the wee-hours. He is pure talent. Thanks Collin! I couldn’t have done it without you!

Did that just happen? 2009, I mean. Like, the whole year.

Wow.

January: Spent zero dollars on clothing. That’s a fact.

February: Visited Michelle in Nebraska! Who would have ever thought I would visit Nebraska… not me. But it was awesome. Started Sweet Somethings with my momma.

March: Went to the Festival of Colors with Aub Bob. Won a photo shoot! Dressed up in 80’s garb and danced the night away.

April: Bought Screamin’ Mimi… aka my scooter. I love her.

May: Happy birthday to me! I got my adorable bicycle, Gigi. Ran my second ever half marathon. Bought my Nikon D60.

June: One word: Hawaii. I don’t even care about anything else that happened in June.

July: I love July. I love the 4th of July. I also love the 24th of July because I live in Utah. July holidays = Bliss.

August: Hong Kong. Macau. Bangkok, Thailand. Epic adventures.

September: Started a photography class, chopped my hair. I love both.

October: Took lots of pictures. Dressed up as a bumble bee.

November: Turkey, mashed, stuffed, etc. Times two.

December: Said good-bye to Elder Nash. Hello house fire. Christmas. New Year’s Eve.

If you’re lucky I’ll post about how I did on my goals for 2009 and fill you in on my goals for 2010. But only if you’re lucky.

Love you all!

xoxo Cambria

Yesterday was the most adorable two-year old in the worlds’ birthday.  I wanted to do something special for this two-year old, so I decided to sew him a monkey.  I saw the pattern at work and couldn’t stop thinking about it!  Let’s just say it was a little difficult for my skill level… wait till you see how small his face is!  I’m super pleased with how he turned out, though.  I have enough fabric for another monkey… if I dare.
